dc.descriptionIt has been shown that home care of children with special health care needs and highly complex diseases has made it possible to lower the costs associated with hospitalization and reduce the risk of mortality so that timely, safe, and continuous accompaniment of parents or caregivers is an important task for health care teams. This care can be hampered by problems of communication and responsiveness to the demands for care, generating anxiety in caregivers when making decisions, a barrier that has been minimized with the incorporation of modern technologies. In this update, we present an analysis and reflection on the implementation of technology as a tool at the service of caregivers of children with special needs, based on the existing applicability in palliative care.en-US
dc.descriptionSe ha demostrado que el cuidado domiciliario de niños con necesidades especiales de atención en salud y con enfermedades de alta complejidad, ha permitido bajar los costos asociados a la hospitalización y disminuir el riesgo de mortalidad, por lo que un acompañamiento oportuno, seguro y continuo de los padres o cuidadores es una importante tarea de los equipos de salud. Esta atención puede verse dificultada por problemas de comunicación y capacidad de reacción a las demandas de atención, lo que genera ansiedad en los cuidadores al momento de tomar decisiones, barrera que se ha logrado minimizar con la incorporación de modernas tecnologías. En esta actualización presentamos un análisis y reflexión respecto a la implementación de la tecnología como una herramienta al servicio de los cuidadores de niños con necesidades especiales, basándose en la aplicabilidad existente en cuidados paliativos.es-ES
