| dc.description | This article explore the transformations of the heritage scenery currently in Chile and the colective actions that dispute the narratives and discourses of protected heritage. Based on documents reviews and field work, the actions made on Public Monuments and Historic Monuments are analyzed, on their plural uses that points to destabilize the canonical notion of heritage by disputing their representations and applications. From the study of four monuments, the article concludes that although the State reproduces a political discourse of appropiation and transformation of heritage, a conservationist paradigm that operates against actions that threaten its materiality and integrity prevails. On the other hand, the article supports that the responses to the interventions of monuments express a different valuation according to the memories that these heritages represent, thus, an asymmetric conservation policy among those monuments that highlight dominant values and other monuments that embodies uncomfortable aspects for the official history. | en-US |
| dc.description | El artículo reflexiona en torno a las controversias del campo patrimonial en el Chile actual a partir del análisis de intervenciones en dos dispositivos patrimoniales oficiales: Monumentos Públicos y Monumentos Históricos. En base a la revisión de archivo y trabajo de campo en tres Monumentos Históricos y un Monumento Público, se identifican las di- námicas de acción colectiva e institucional que disputan los discursos, usos, funciones y representaciones del patrimonio protegido. El artículo evidencia que el Estado, si bien activa y reproduce un discurso que valora la apropiación y transformación del patrimonio cultural, antepone un paradigma conservacionista que opera contra las acciones de intervención que transgreden su materialidad e integridad. Por otra parte, se sostiene que las respuestas ante la intervención de los monumentos expresan una valoración distinta según las memorias que estos patrimonios representen y, por lo tanto, una política de cuidado asimétrica entre aquellos monumentos que resaltan valores dominantes y otros que encarnan aspectos incó- modos para la historia oficial. | es-ES |
