dc.descriptionIn recent years, open data has become a topic of growing interest. Governments are increasingly implementing initiatives aimed at facilitating access to data related to the functioning of their institutions. Although various initiatives related to open government have been pursued in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, an empirical evaluation of the relationship between those initiatives and the effective implementation of mechanisms for access to open data has not yet been carried out. This article proposes to assess, in an exploratory manner, the state of open data in the Venezuelan national public administration. For that purpose, information provided by international studies is used, as well as analysis of the content and functionalities of open data portals. It is concluded that the Venezuelan public administration still has a long way to go in terms of open data, both in the adoption of this type of initiative and in the development of its existing website, especially when it comes to the use of data on the part of the citizenry.en-US
dc.descriptionLos datos abiertos se han convertido en los últimos años en un tema de creciente interés. Los gobiernos están implementando de forma creciente iniciativas que buscan ampliar el acceso a datos relacionados al funcionamiento de sus instituciones. Aunque en la República Bolivariana de Venezuela se han llevado adelante diferentes iniciativas relacionadas con el gobierno abierto, todavía no se ha realizado una evaluación empírica sobre la relación entre este último y la implementación efectiva de mecanismos de acceso a los datos abiertos. Este artículo evalúa, de forma exploratoria, el estado de los datos abiertos en la administración pública nacional venezolana. Para ello, se utiliza la información proporcionada por estudios internacionales, así como el análisis del contenido y funcionalidades de los portales de datos abiertos. Se concluye que a la administración pública venezolana todavía le queda mucho por avanzar en materia de datos abiertos, tanto en la adopción de este tipo de iniciativa, como en el desarrollo de su sitio web ya existente, especialmente la utilización de datos por parte de la ciudadanía.es-ES
