dc.descriptionIn this paper, we address the appearance of the psychoanalyst as a character, in Chilean novels of the 1930s and 1940s, written by Juan Marín Rojas and Samuel Gajardo Contreras. The analysis aims, first, to take account of the particularities of the portraits of these characters, highlighting the ways in which psychoanalysis was interpreted and understood in Chile at the time. Moreover, we seek to investigate further consequences of this particular analysis, in the unveiling of a broader process, which concerns not only the historiography of psychoanalysis itself, but also the process that we call “psychologization” of society, where knowledge of the psychic or “psy knowledge”, is included in various cultural fields, carried out not only by experts but also by laymen and women, serving as tools used by Chileans to understand themselves, others and society.en-US
dc.descriptionEste trabajo aborda la aparición del personaje del psicoanalista en algunas novelas chilenas, escritas por Juan Marín Rojas y Samuel Gajardo Contreras en las décadas de 1930 y 1940. El análisis de dichas producciones apunta, por una parte, a dar cuenta de las particularidades de los retratos de dichos personajes, destacando con ello las formas en que se interpretaba y entendía el psicoanálisis en Chile en aquella época. Por otra parte, se rescatan los alcances de este análisis, circunscrito en la indagación de un proceso más amplio, que no sólo conciernen a historiografía del psicoanálisis, sino también al proceso que hemos llamado “psicologización” de la sociedad, donde los saberes de lo psíquico o “saberes psi”, son incluidos en diversos campos culturales, ya no sólo por expertos, sino también por legos, sirviendo como herramientas utilizadas por chilenos y chilenas para entenderse a sí mismos, a los otros y a la sociedad.es-ES
