dc.description	En las últimas dos décadas del siglo XIX tuvieron lugar en Buenos Aires numerosas demostraciones de poderes telepáticos. Esa llamativa facultad fue exhibida en algunos teatros por parte de prestidigitadores extranjeros, pero también en hospitales de la ciudad bajo la atenta mirada de los médicos, o en salones particulares donde se congregaban hombres cultos de la ciudad. Por otro lado, diversas voces locales narraron o intentaron explicar teóricamente la transmisión del pensamiento. Espiritistas, intelectuales, médicos y escritores brindaron, cada uno con su lenguaje y sus objetivos, versiones sobre la naturaleza de la telepatía. El objetivo de este artículo es atender a esa presencia de lo telepático en la cultura científica de la capital de Argentina.	es-ES
dc.description	In the last two decades of the 19th century many telepathic performances took place in Buenos Aires. That amazing power was shown in some theaters by foreign magicians, but also in city hospitals under the watchful eyes of physicians, or in private rooms where educated men of the city gathered. In addition, different local voices reported or tried to explain theoretically the thought transmission. Spiritualists, intellectuals, physicians and writers, with their own language and purposes, provided versions about the nature of telepathy. The aim of this paper is to analyze the way in which telepathy was handled in Buenos Aires’ scientific culture.	en-US
