In this work we explore the following four essays from the Argentinian writer Ernesto Sábato: Uno y el universo (1945), Hombres y engranajes (1951), Heterodoxia (1953) y El otro rostro del peronismo (1956). We focus in the moral issues discussed in these essays. The author lays out the need to attend essential enquiries regarding the subject condition. His thoughts deepen into antagonizing tendencies, raised both in the individual scene as well as in the progression of the social groups. These two ultimately aid a problem related to the moral. For their part, Sigmund Freud and Jacques Lacan explored the same topic under the scope of a conceptual framework based on the psychic functioning and the drive. In this way, Sábato’s literary work enables the production of links with the psychoanalytic theory, showing how the artist´s act implicates a knowledge that interest the psychoanalysis.En el siguiente trabajo, indagamos cuatro ensayos del escritor argentino Ernesto Sábato, Uno y el universo (1945), Hombres y engranajes (1951), Heterodoxia (1953) y El otro rostro del peronismo (1956), centrándonos en los aspectos morales allí discutidos. En estos textos, el escritor plantea la necesidad de atender inquietudes que señala esenciales a la condición de sujeto. Sus reflexiones ahondan en las tendencias contrapuestas, suscitadas tanto en el acontecer individual como en el devenir de los conjuntos sociales, las cuales asisten, en último sentido, a un problema relativo a la dimensión moral. Por su parte, Sigmund Freud y Jacques Lacan, sondearon el mismo asunto a la luz de las conceptualizaciones sobre los funcionamientos psíquicos y la pulsión. De esta manera, la literatura de Sábato permite establecer nexos con la teoría psicoanalítica, mostrando cómo el quehacer del artista supone un saber que interesa al psicoanálisis.
