dc.descriptionThis article analyzes the work of feminist theorist and cultural critic bell hooks, paying special attention to the place of individual and collective experience in her intellectual project. In this project, the production of knowledge attends to the experiences of the author and the black communities in which she grew up, which in turn are re-signified in the light of the theories developed by hooks and other exponents of black feminism. For hooks, attending to experience is also a powerful pedagogical strategy for the development of critical and transformative thinking. This article analyzes hooks’ essays, especially the texts that highlight the links between experience and theorizing. The trajectory and intellectual production of hooks is read in the context of radical black feminism that takes shape in the 1960s and 1970s.en-US
dc.descriptionEste artículo analiza la obra de la teórica feminista y crítica cultural bell hooks, poniendo especial atención en el lugar que tiene la experiencia individual y colectiva en su proyecto intelectual. En este, la producción de conocimiento se nutre de las vivencias de la autora y de las comunidades negras en las que creció, las que son resignificadas a partir de las teorías desarrolladas por hooks y otras exponentes del feminismo negro. Para hooks atender a la experiencia configura una estrategia pedagógica poderosa para la elaboración de un pensamiento crítico y transformador. Se analiza la obra ensayística de hooks, sobre todo aquella que ilumina los vínculos entre experiencia y teorización. La trayectoria y producción intelectual de hooks es leída como parte de una trama de feminismo negro radical que adquiere forma en los años sesenta y setenta del siglo XX.es-ES
