dc.descriptionThe republicanism has reached, lasting recent times, an interesting and massive resurgence, evident in both political theory and in the discussion on the possible development styles that, beyond the neoliberalism, allow combining harmonious economic growth, social integration and political democracy. This article attempts a critique of contemporary republicanism, particularly of that argument, with wide coverage in current debates (Phillip Pettit), declares an alleged breach, or at least the existence of a normative discontinuity between republicanism and the traditional foundation of liberal democracy. It suggests, however, that Pettit Republicanism has one of the core normative assumptions of liberalism: trying to hold constantly contingencies of democratic politics through the legal system. This litigation of democratic politics seeks to highlight the importance of critically rethink the normative conditions of the foundations of republican democracy, presumably post-liberal, now in vogue.en-US
dc.descriptionEl republicanismo ha alcanzado, durante los últimos tiempos, un interesante y masivo resurgimiento, evidente tanto en la teoría política como en la discusión sobre los posibles estilos de desarrollo que, más allá del neoliberalismo, permitan conjugar armónicamente crecimiento económico, integración social y democracia política. En este artículo se ensaya una crítica del republicanismo contemporáneo, particularmente de aquella argumentación que, con amplia difusión en los debates actuales (Phillip Pettit), declara una pretendida ruptura, o al menos la existencia de una discontinuidad normativa, entre el republicanismo y la tradición liberal de fundamentación de la democracia. Se sugiere, por el contrario, que el republicanismo de Pettit mantiene uno de los supuestos normativos centrales del liberalismo: intentar sujetar, constantemente, las contingencias de la política democrática mediante el orden jurídico. Esta juridificación de la política democrática pretende poner en evidencia la importancia de repensar críticamente las condiciones normativas de fundamentación de la democracia republicana, presuntamente post-liberal, hoy en boga. “Se debe escribir en una lengua que no sea la materna” Vicente Huidobro, Altazores-ES
