dc.description	The problem posed in this essay is that of the possibility of explaining the emergence of social thought in a local society, or more specifically, about the origin of sociology in a society with characteristics different from those in which it originated and developed the sociological theory. The objective is to link the production of social theory by local authors with the analysis of the same society within the framework of social theory in general. The study is done through the analysis of books, articles and academic research reports that have been produced in Monterrey or that take Monterrey society as the object of analysis. The results obtained indicate the recognition of social thought as an area of study and as an occupational activity, but they show the departure from the explanation of local society and its problems.	en-US
dc.description	El problema planteado en este ensayo es el de la posibilidad de explicación del surgimiento del pensamiento social en una sociedad local, o más específicamente, sobre el origen de la sociología en una sociedad con características diferentes a aquellas en las que se originó y se desarrolló la teoría sociológica.   El objetivo consiste en vincular la producción de teoría social de autores locales con el análisis de la misma sociedad en el marco de la teoría social en general. El estudio se hace a través del análisis de libros, artículos y reportes de investigación académicos que se han producido en Monterrey o que toman a la sociedad regiomontana como objeto de análisis. Los resultados obtenidos indican el reconocimiento que se tiene del pensamiento social como área de estudio y como actividad ocupacional, pero evidencian el alejamiento de la explicación de la sociedad local y de sus problemas.	es-ES
