| dc.description | Blindsight is a neuropsychological disorder that involves seeing without knowing that you are seeing. These neuropsychological- reports have generated philosophical interpretations about the nature of consciousness. Throught blindsight, some philosophers have argued that there exist a phenomenal aspect of consciousness; some others have denied its existence. For cognitive scientists, blindsight have allowed to demonstrate the presence of multiple cognitive processes involved in visual perception. But blindsight has also produced a new model of sensorimotor processing in which consciousness is involved. The philosophical implications of blindsight, have moved cognitive models to epistemological grounds while also have introduced the possibility of unconsciousness in philosophical discussion. | en-US |
| dc.description | La visión ciega es una alteración neuropsicológica que implica ver sin saber que se ve. Estos reportes neuropsicológicos han ge- nerado interpretaciones filosóficas sobre la naturaleza de la conciencia. Como tal, la visión ciega ha permitido a algunos filósofos argumentar el aspecto fenoménico de la conciencia; a otros, negar su inexistencia. Para otros científicos cognitivos, les ha permi- tido demostrar la presencia de múltiples procesos cognitivos involucrados en la percepción visual. Pero la visión ciega también ha permitido producir un modelo novedoso de procesamiento sensoriomotor en el que participa la conciencia. Las implicaciones filosóficas de la visión ciega colocan en terrenos epistemológicos a los modelos cognitivos, e introducen la posibilidad de la inconsciencia en la discusión filosófica. | es-ES |
