| dc.description | Intentionality of mental states and phenomenal consciousness are part of the topics in psychology –the cognitive sciences– and in philosophy. The first subject originally come from the philosophy and psychology of Franz Brentano and has been approached with the symbolic representations model relatively successfully; however, the second one is the source of perplexities leading a great number of neurobiologists to consider that phenomenal consciousness presents basically a conceptual problem. In this work, we are trying to illustrate how is it that mental intentionality is present in cognitive sciences and why phenomenal consciousness is a complex problem. At last, some reflections by Ludwig Wittgenstein will be taken into account to illustrate the point. | en-US |
| dc.description | La intencionalidad de los estados mentales y la conciencia fenoménica son dos temas que comparten la psicología –y demás disciplinas de orientación cognitiva– y la filosofía. El primer tópico fue heredado de la psicología y filosofía de Franz Brentano y ha sido abordado, con relativo éxito, en el contexto del modelo de representaciones simbólicas. El segundo tópico, en cambio, es fuente de perplejidades, al punto que muchos neurobiólogos consideran que la conciencia fenoménica plantea un problema fundamentalmente conceptual. Se intentará mostrar cómo es que la intencionalidad de lo mental se hizo presente en las ciencias cognitivas y también por qué la conciencia fenoménica es un problema tan difícil, para esto último se usarán algunas reflexiones de Ludwig Wittgenstein. | es-ES |
