| dc.description | The article is the result of an investigation which aims at setting the historical record of discrimination based on sexual orientation and / or gender identity, and the subsequent violence expressed by homophobic bullying toward students LGBTI, sexual dissidents, in various schools in the country the last three decades. Information sources are basically: complaints of discrimination based on sexual orientation at the MINEDUC, interviewing victims and witnesses of homophobic bullying of those acts of violence, and media reports. Through analysis of these sources, we conclude that although discrimination and violence have nuanced, especially in the use of physical violence as a deterrent, in the last decade, homophobia and invisibility of the dissident students remains virtually unchanged. Situation that, somehow, is reinforced by the assumptions of some current plans for sex education, which continue standardizing homosexuality as an illness, or appealing to a moralistic paternalism that denies any possibility of erotic-affective fulfillment for these students; besides the lack of preparation that show teachers and pedagogy students to address educationally or deal with such students. Probably the most significant change is that it has gone from complete rejection and repression of dissidents to a “tolerance of the inevitability” where resignation appears to be its distinguishing mark. | en-US |
| dc.description | El artículo es resultado de una investigación cuyo objetivo es configurar la trayectoria histórica de la discriminación por orientación sexual o identidad genérica, y la subsecuente violencia expresada mediante bullying homofóbico hacia estudiantes LGBTI, disi- dentes sexuales, en distintas escuelas del país en las últimas tres décadas. Las fuentes de información son básicamente: denuncias de discriminación por orientación sexual ante el MINEDUC, entrevistas a víctimas de bullying homofóbico y testigos de esos hechos de violencia, y reportes de prensa. Por medio del análisis de esas fuentes se concluye que pese a que la discriminación y violencia se han matizado, especialmente en el uso de la violencia física como elemento disuasivo, en la última década, la homo- fobia e invisibilización de los(as) estudiantes disidentes permanece prácticamente inalterada. Situación que de algún modo se ve reforzada por los supuestos de algunos planes de educación sexual vigentes, que continúan homologando la homosexualidad a una enfermedad, o apelando a un paternalismo moralizante que niega toda posibilidad de realización erótico-afectiva para estos(as) estudiantes; además de la falta de preparación que evidencian los profesores y estudiantes de pedagogías para abordar el tema en términos educativos o lidiar con este tipo de estudiantes. Probablemente, el cambio más significativo es que se ha pasado del rechazo absoluto y represión de los disidentes a una “tolerancia de lo inevitable” donde la resignación pareciera ser su impronta distintiva. | es-ES |
