| dc.description | The present study explores the relation between representation of gender roles and the acceptance of myths and beliefs on sexual violence in inhabitants of both genders of the city of Lima. For this purpose a qualitative investigation was carried out in which, by means of individual interviews, the social representations related to acts of sexual violence were explored. The results shows the persistence of social representations related to traditional gender roles which will have an effect in the acceptance of myths and beliefs related to sexual violence. Thus, the transgressor of the traditional gender roles will attribute responsibility on the part of the victim and even in the justification of certain acts of violence. | en-US |
| dc.description | El presente estudio explora la relación entre representaciones sobre roles de género y la aceptación de mitos y creencias sobre violencia sexual en habitantes de ambos géneros de la ciudad de Lima. Para tal fin se elaboró una investigación cualitativa, donde por medio de entrevistas individuales, se indagó sobre las representaciones sociales relacionadas con actos de violencia sexual y los actores involucrados. Los resultados muestran la persistencia de representaciones sociales asociadas a roles de género tradi- cionales que repercutirían en la aceptación de mitos y creencias sobre la violencia sexual. De tal manera, la transgresión de los roles tradicionales de género se asociaría a la atribución de responsabilidad por parte de la víctima e incluso en la justificación de determinados actos de violencia. | es-ES |
