| dc.description | The aim of this research project is to determine the correlation between psychological well-being, social support and mental and physical health state, and the quality of life of elderly population in the city of Arica, Chile. A non-probability, availability sam- pling method was used. The sample consisted of 150 elderly people (42 men, and 108 women) from different areas of the city. The results show a positive and statistically significant correlation between quality of life and psycological well-being (0.763), social support (0,431) and mental and physical health condition (0.586). Nevertheless, the final model is: mental and physical health condition *0656 + phsicologycal well-being *168= quality of life (non-standarized regression coefficient), providing a multiple correlation of 0.78. | dc.description | La presente investigación tiene como principal objetivo relacionar las variables bienestar psicológico, apoyo social, estado de salud física y mental con calidad de vida en adultos mayores de la ciudad de Arica. El tipo de muestreo utilizado es no probabilístico por disponibilidad. Participaron 150 adultos mayores (42 hombres y 108 mujeres), pertenecientes a distintos sectores de la ciudad. Los resultados indican que Calidad de vida correlacionó de manera positiva y estadísticamente significativa con Bienestar psicológico (0,763), Apoyo social (0,431) y Salud física y mental (0,586). No obstante, el modelo final es salud *0656 + bienestar psicológico *168= calidad de vida (coeficiente de regresión no estandarizados), lo anterior proporciona una correlación múltiple de 0,78.
