| dc.description | This work is intended to provide a reading relating on one hand to the thought of Michel Foucault on scientific rationalism and heteronormativity, and on the other, to a subjective perspective, analyzing the ideological corpus on the “true sex”, as a basis for examining the case of Herculine Barbin, a 19th-century hermaphrodite who, at the age of 21, was pressured into a legal process to reassign her gender, civil status and clothing. In this context she decided to write her memoirs, describing in detail the conflicts she had experienced throughout her life. She was unable to come to terms with her change of “gender identity”, and committed suicide eight years later. | en-US |
| dc.description | El presente trabajo tiene como finalidad realizar una lectura de correlato, por un lado el análisis crítico desde el pensamiento de Michel Foucault acerca de la racionalidad científica sobre la heteronormalidad, por el otro, desde la perspectiva subjetiva se analiza el corpus ideológico sobre “el verdadero sexo” en el cual se asienta el abordaje de Herculine Barbin, un hermafrodita del siglo XIX que a la edad de 21 años es empujado a un proceso judicial para su reasignación sexual, estado civil y vestimenta, quien en este contexto decide escribir sus memorias donde relata detenidamente los conflictos vividos a lo largo de su existencia y qué tras el cambio de “identidad sexual” no puede soportar más, suicidándose 8 años más tarde. | es-ES |
