| dc.description | According to the evaluative theories, emotions involve intentionality ―judgments and evaluations― and, therefore, rationality. Physiological theories, on the other hand, ar-gue that emotions must be defined in terms of patterns of physiological changes and their perception. These theories must resolve two problems: (1) how can be intentional or representational mere physiological changes. And (2) how can be made an assess-ment of rationality out of physiological changes. The approach of the embodied ap-praisals (Prinz, 2003a, 2003b, 2004) provides answers to such problems from a physio-logical perspective. The details and implications of this approach are exposed and dis-cussed in this paper. | en-US |
| dc.description | Según las teorías evaluativas, las emociones involucran intencionalidad ―juicios o evaluaciones― y, por lo tanto, racionalidad. Las teorías fisiológicas, por su parte, sostienen que las emociones se definen, esencialmente, por patrones de cambios fisiológi- cos y su percepción. A estas teorías se les plantean sendos problemas: (1) cómo pueden ser inten-cionales o representacionales los meros cambios fisiológicos. Y (2) cómo puede hacerse una evaluación de la racionalidad de los cambios fisiológicos. La propuesta de las valoraciones corporeizadas (Prinz, 2003a, 2003b, 2004) ofrece respuestas a tales plantea-mientos desde un enfoque fisiológico.
