| dc.description | The aim of this work is to expose the Cartesian Model of the mind in Cognitive Archaeology and point out how it relates to the questions behind this branch of archaeology. Based on this, some of the premises assumed by the Cartesian Model and how they influence the formulation to the problem of epistemological relativism in the branch are explained. According to this problem, since there is no way to evaluate hypotheses in this research area, the investigations on cognition, based on archaeological evidence, are unjustified. Finally, some alternative approaches to the Cartesian Model and its research agendas are summarized. | en-US |
| dc.description | El objetivo de este trabajo es exponer en qué consiste el modelo cartesiano de la mente en arqueología cognitiva y señalar cómo éste se relaciona con las interrogantes que se hallan detrás de esta rama de la arqueología. A partir de ello, se exponen cuáles son algunas de las premisas que el modelo cartesiano supone y cómo éstas influyen en el planteamiento del problema del relativismo epistemológico en la disciplina, según el cual, al no existir una forma de evaluar las hipótesis en esta área de investigación, las indagaciones sobre la cognición, a partir de la evidencia arqueológica, están injustificadas. Se finaliza resumiendo algunos enfoques alternativos al modelo cartesiano y sus agendas de investigación. | es-ES |
