| dc.description | Se presenta y discute la noción de maternidad científica como categoría discursiva construida en el seno de las discusiones decimonónicas sobre la higiene y la gestión científica del hogar tanto en nuestro continente como en Europa y Estado Unidos. Se analizan los discursos médicos-higienistas así como los de la economía doméstica para indagar en los modos en que el gobierno de los hombres en la sociedad industrial configuró un ideal materno anclado a los imaginarios ilustrados de orden, progreso y razón convirtiéndose en territorio de disputas ideológicas, de saberes y sobre todo una cuestión de hombres.
The concept of scientific motherhood is discussed and presented as a discursive category constructed during 19th century discussions about hygiene and the scientific management of the home both on our continent and that of Europe and the United States. The medical- hygienist discourses, as well as those of the domestic economy, are analyzed to investigate the modes in which the government of men in industrial society constructed a maternal ideal connected to the enlightened ideals of order, progress and reason becoming a territory of ideological clashes about knowledge and, above all, a matter of men. | es-ES |
