El presente documento propone estudiar el término de Reconocimiento propuesto por Axel Honneth pensándolo para la vejez. Mediante el mismo se pretende problematizar algunas de las posibles experiencias de reconocimiento o menosprecio que viven los viejos y cómo estas repercuten en los mismos. Así mismo, se analizará el papel protagónico que tiene el derecho como elemento necesario para el reconocimiento. La relevancia de interpelar el reconocimiento se debe a que un mal reconocimiento puede llegar a perjudicar cómo los viejos se ven, cómo piensan y en consecuencia cómo actúan.   This paper attempts to study the concept of recognition applied to old age, based on Axel Honneth’s theory. Throughout this article, the object is to theorize about some recognition and non-recognition patterns experienced by the elderly, and how this may aff ect them. Also, understand how the law takes center stage in recognition analysis. Non-recognition patterns tend to have a negative impact on how the elderly perceive themselves, on what they think, and in consequence, how they act.
