| dc.description | This article presents a state-of-the-art review of studies on the experiences of violence faced by women in different global border contexts. We will start by conceptualizing gender violence and its relation to national borders. Then, we review the research carried out between in Europe and North America (focusing in the Mexico-United States border), and in Asia, Africa, and South America. We conclude with an analytical balance on the different geopolitical contexts and the theoretical proposals discussed. | en-US |
| dc.description | El artículo presenta una revisión de estado del arte de los estudios sobre las experiencias de violencia enfrentadas por mujeres en distintos contextos fronterizos globales. Iniciamos el debate conceptualizando a la violencia de género y su relación con las fronteras nacionales. Luego, revisamos las investigaciones desarrolladas en Europa y Norteamérica (enfatizando la frontera México-Estados Unidos) y en Asia, África y Sudamérica. Concluimos con un balance analítico sobre diferentes contextos geopolíticos y propuestas teóricas discutidas. | es-ES |
