Ulysses’s myth, related by Homer, has become the paradigm of exile. His adventures and misadventures seem to represent exiled existences. However, in this research, and based on the reflection of Vásquez and Araujo, we wonder about its representativeness, since it seems to leave out the female experience of exile. On the other hand, Penelope, his wife, does not seem to represent this record either, since her exile is internal. In this line, and placing the reflection in the exiles of the Southern Latin American Cone, we develop a philosophical reflection that seeks to investigate the place of women in this myth and in the narratives and discursivities about exile. In order to do this, we approche to Hannah Arendt´s tougth that will show us the differences between public space and private space, a separation that appears the myth and is questioned by Latin American exiled women too. This will enable a reflection on the exiled women of the Southern Cone and their relationships with gender roles, representations, memory and the possibility of a creative freedom.El mito de Ulises, narrado por Homero, se ha constituido en el paradigma del exilio. Sus aventuras y desventuras parecen representar las existencias exiliadas. Sin embargo, en este trabajo, y a partir de la reflexión de Vásquez y Araujo (Vásquez y Araujo, 1990), nos preguntamos por su representatividad, pues pareciera que deja fuera la experiencia femenina del exilio. Por otra parte, Penélope, su mujer, tampoco parece representar este registro, pues su exilio es de orden interno. En esta línea, y situando el análisis en los exilios del Cono Sur latinoamericano, desarrollamos una reflexión filosófica que busca indagar sobre el lugar de la mujer en este mito en particular y en las narrativas y discursividades sobre el exilio en general. Para ello acudimos a Hannah Arendt, quien nos brindará algunas luces sobre la distinción entre espacio público y espacio privado, separación que se evidencia en el mito y que, a su vez, es cuestionada por las exiliadas latinoamericanas. Todo lo anterior, habilitará una reflexión sobre las exiliadas del Cono Sur y su relación con los roles de género, las representaciones, la memoria y la posibilidad de una libertad creadora.
