| dc.description | The objective of this article is to explore the ecclesial and political leadership of María Aguirre Aguilar by identifying elements that outline her participation in the Chilean Methodist Church and the women's emancipation movement between 1920 and 1945. María Aguirre's leadership emerges in one of the most significant socio-historical moments of the Methodist church in the incorporation of women into the ecclesiastical hierarchy, which is linked to the convergence of feminist movements and Methodist women's societies. It is hoped that the work will be an input for research on women's leadership in Protestant churches. For the development of the study, bibliographic reviews of the newspapers "El Cristiano" and "El Heraldo Cristiano" were carried out. In addition to unpublished documents provided by the director of the Documentation Center of the Methodist Church of Chile. For the analysis it was necessary to resort to feminist methodologies for the formation of female leaders and typology of female leadership. | en-US |
| dc.description | El objetivo del presente artículo es explorar el liderazgo eclesial y político de Ma-ría Aguirre Aguilar identificando elementos que dibujan su participación en la iglesia me-todista chilena y el movimiento pro emanci-pación de la mujer entre los años 1920 a 1945. El liderazgo de María Aguirre emerge en uno de los momentos sociohistóricos más signifi-cativo de la iglesia metodista en la incorpora-ción de mujeres a la jerarquía eclesiástica, el cual, se encuentra vinculado a la convergencia de los movimientos feministas y las socieda-des femeniles metodistas. Se espera que el trabajo sea un insumo a investigaciones sobre liderazgos femeniles provenientes de iglesias protestantes. Para el desarrollo del estudio se realizaron revisiones bibliográficas de los periódicos “El Cristiano” y “El Heraldo Cristiano”. Además de documentos inéditos pro-porcionados por la directora del Centro de Documentación de la Iglesia Metodista de Chile. Para el análisis fue necesario recurrir a metodologías feministas para la formación de lideresas y tipología de liderazgos femeninos. | es-ES |
