dc.descriptionIn the new generation of technology, the society is being disruptively impacted in a transversely way the common and traditional dynamics of its life in its homes, finances, mobility, food, health, and others. Responding the globalization trends, different stakeholders are investing in high technology to assume the fourth technological era. In consequence, the concept of shared economy has become a new economy production method, which is born from a new form of production by sharing what you have and earning remuneration through the virtual platforms as Uber, Cabify, AIRBNB, inDriver, Zipcar and others. These new technologies represent challenges in various dimensions, including city management. In this study it was analyzed the case of AIRBNB in the capital of Ecuador, urban Quito, and the conurbation of the valleys (Los Valles). The objective is to analyze the territorial patterns ofthe service, the variables that allow an Airbnb to exist and its relationship with a possible gentrification, although there are no substantial studies of it. It is also studied, the role of proximity to milestones, provision of services and territorial heterogeneity in the socio-spatial dynamics of Airbnb accommodations. This study will allow decision makers to diagnose how the Airbnb service is positioning itself in the city and to be able to anticipate possible unplanned urban gentrification because of the processes of “new urban colonialism”.en-US
dc.descriptionEn la nueva generación de la tecnología, la sociedad está siendo impactada disruptivamente de manera transversal en las dinámicas comunes y tradicionales de su vida en sus hogares, finanzas, movilidad, alimentación, salud, entre otros. Respondiendo a las tendencias de la globalización, diferentes actores están invirtiendo en alta tecnología para asumir la cuarta era tecnológica. En consecuencia, el concepto de economía compartida se ha convertido en un nuevo método de producción económica, que nace de una nueva forma de producción mediante compartir lo que se tiene y ganar una remuneración a través de las plataformas virtuales como Uber, Cabify, Airbnb, inDriver, Zipcar y otras. Estas nuevas tecnologías representan retos en varias dimensiones, entre esas la gestión de la ciudad. En este estudio, se analizó el caso de Airbnb en la capital del Ecuador, Quito urbano y la conurbación de Los Valles. El objetivo es analizar los patrones territoriales del servicio, las variables que permiten que exista un Airbnb y su relación con una posible gentrificación, aunque no existan estudios sustanciales de la misma. Se estudia también el rol de la proximidad a hitos, la dotación de servicios y la heterogeneidad territorial en la dinámica socioespacial de los alojamientos Airbnb. Este estudio permitirá a los tomadores de decisiones diagnosticar cómo el servicio de Airbnb se está posicionando en la ciudad y poder anticiparse ante una posible gentrificación urbana no planificada producto de los procesos de “nuevo colonialismo urbano”.es-ES
