| dc.description | The study of the anatomical bases of memory constitutes a central and fundamental aspect for neurosciences. At present, memory processes are conceived as a function of the activity of the brain as a whole. However, this does not mean that memory is considered a unitary and indivisible entity. Depending on the temporal characteristics and the stored content, various memory subsystems have been described. Each one of them would be represented by different neural structures, which in turn interact with each other, allowing the integral functioning of the system. | en-US |
| dc.description | El estudio de las bases anatómicas de la memoria constituye un aspecto central y fundamental para las neurociencias. En la actualidad, se concibe a los procesos de memoria como una función de la actividad del cerebro como un todo. Sin embargo, esto no significa que la memoria sea considerada una entidad unitaria e indivisible. Dependiendo de las características temporales y del contenido almacenado diversos subsistemas de la memoria han sido descritos. Cada uno de ellos estaría representado por diferentes estructuras neurales, las que a su vez interactúan entre sí, permitiendo el funcionamiento integral del sistema. | es-ES |
