The purpose of this paper is to problematize and comment on some of the most outstanding aspects of the concept of hysteria. For this, a brief historical review of the appearance of the concept will be carried out and the first approximations of psychoanalysis will be commented, fundamentally, in the work of Freud. In a second moment, a review of some of the most important problems that arise in the therapeutic work with hysteria will be carried out. This is done from the contributions that Lacan made in the French school of psychoanalysis. From this perspective, four types of difficulties are mentioned that occur in clinical work with hysteria and that are related to four concepts typical of psychoanalytic theory: countertransference, transference, resistance and sexuality.El presente trabajo tiene como objeto problematizar y comentar algunos de los aspectos más sobresalientes del concepto de histeria. Para ello se realizará una breve revisión histórica de la aparición del concepto y se comentarán las primeras aproximaciones del psicoanálisis, fundamentalmente, en la obra de Freud. En un segundo momento, se realizará una revisión de algunos de los problemas más importantes que surgen en el trabajo terapéutico con la histeria. Esto se realiza a partir de los aportes que Lacan realizó en la escuela francesa de psicoanálisis. Bajo esta perspectiva se mencionan cuatro tipo de dificultades que se producen en el trabajo clínico con la histeria y que se relacionan con cuatro conceptos propios de la teoría psicoanalítica: contratransferencia, transferencia, resistencia y sexualidad.
