dc.descriptionThe antecedents that, during the last twenty years, have made possible the emergence of a new disciplinary and professional area called Health Psychology or behavioral medicine are described. Among these antecedents, the work of the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute stands out. the works of Cannon, Slyey Brady in experimental philosophy, the Soviet school author of the so-called cortico-visceral approach, the contributions of sociology to medicine and the development of Experimental Analysis of Behavior. Subsequently, the facts that have given a good reception to the described developments are discussed, a definition is proposed and the areas of investigation and application are considered.en-US
dc.descriptionSe describen los antecedentes que, durante los últimos veinte años, han posibilitado el surgimiento de una nueva área disciplinaria y profesional denominada Psicología de la Salud o medicina comportamental. Entre estos antecedentes se destacan la labor del Instituto Psicoanalítico de Chicago. los trabajos de Cannon, Slyey Brady en filosofía experimental, la escuela soviética autora del enfoque denominado córtico-visceral, las aportaciones de la sociología a la medicina y el desarrollo del Análisis Experiemental del Comportamiento. Posteriormente son discutidos los hechos que han dispensado una buena acogida a los desarrollos descritos, se propone una definición y se plantean las áreas de investigación y aplicación.es-ES
