Being the subject of identity an important object of study for psychology, paradoxically it has not been profusely investigated, especially in recent years, especially in the social area. And it is precisely interesting to locate this concept here in the field of population development, of communities, of communes. Said more directly, in the context of the regional. The Chilean State has targeted the regions of our country, an attitude that indicates the need, even for a moment, not to privilege the center. This article intends to show this process, fundamentally describing some aspects of the regional reality and, at the same time, observing the configuration of identity. It ends by complementing with the contribution of action and change mechanisms such as territorial management and intersectoriality.Siendo el tema identidad un objeto de estudio importante para la Psicología, paradójicamente no ha sido profusamente investigado, especialmente los últimos años, especialmente en el área de los social. Y precisamente interesa ubicar aquí dicho concepto en el ámbito del desarrollo poblacional, de comunidades, de comunas. Dicho de modo más directo, en el contexto de lo Regional. El Estado Chileno ha puesto en la mira las regiones de nuestro país, actitud que indica la necesidad, aunque sea por un momento, de no privilegiar el centro. Este artículo pretende mostrar ese proceso, fundamentalmente describiendo algunos aspectos de la realidad regional y paralelamente observando la configuración de identidad. Se finaliza complementando con el aporte de mecanismos de acción y de cambio como son la Gestión Territorial y la Intersectorialidad.
