Chronic kidney disease (CKD) generates biopsychosocial repercussions that affect adherence to treatment. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between depression and anxiety on therapeutic adherence in patients with CKD. Thirty one CKD patients participated, between 18 and 69 years old, with renal replacement therapy. Beck Depression Inventory-II, Beck Anxiety Inventory and Therapeutic Adherence Scale were applied. Results showed that patients had high adherence (67%). and depressive symptoms (48%) and anxiety (35%). Depression was associated with lower adherence, especially in controlling food/liquid intake and medical monitoring. It is discussed the emotional impact of the disease and the need to psychological support.La enfermedad renal crónica (ERC) genera repercusiones biopsicosociales que afectan la adherencia al tratamiento. Por ello, el objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar la relación entre depresión y ansiedad sobre la adherencia terapéutica en pacientes con ERC. Participaron 31 pacientes con ERC, entre 18 y 69 años, con tratamiento de reemplazo renal. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron: Inventario de Depresión de Beck-II, Inventario de Ansiedad de Beck y Escala de Adherencia Terapéutica. Los resultados mostraron que los pacientes presentaron adherencia alta (67%), así como síntomas depresivos (48%) y ansiosos (35%). La depresión se relacionó con menor adherencia, especialmente en el control de ingesta de alimentos/líquidos y seguimiento médico. Se discute sobre el impacto emocional de la enfermedad y la necesidad de apoyo psicológico.
