The aim of the research was to describe change process of a mother, in the context of accompanying her children to psychotherapy for sexual abuse. The study adopted a qualitative methodology; the type of study is a case study. The information was collected through in-depth interviews that were carried out with a mother at different moments of the intervention and 14 months after the end of it, being analysed later through thematic narrative analysis. The results show the different moments in the evolution of therapeutic change, as well as the facilitators and hinderers factors identified by the participant. It is highlighted that change is lived as a joint experience involving the participant and her children. The importance of interventions that support and include the parental figures in psychotherapy of their children is discussed, understanding that they are indirect victims, that the changes occur while they accompany their children to psychotherapy and their fundamental role in the process of children and adolescents.La investigación tuvo por objetivo describir el proceso de cambio de una madre, en el contexto de acompañamiento a sus hijos/as a psicoterapia por agresiones sexuales. El estudio adoptó una metodología cualitativa, siendo el tipo de estudio un análisis de caso. La información se recolectó a través de entrevistas en profundidad que fueron realizadas a una madre en tres momentos de la intervención y luego de 14 meses del término de esta, siendo analizadas posteriormente a través del análisis narrativo temático. Los resultados dan cuenta de los distintos momentos de la evolución del cambio, así como de los factores facilitadores y obstaculizadores identificados por la participante. Se destaca que el cambio es vivenciado como una experiencia que ocurre en conjunto entre la participante y sus hijos/as. Se discute la importancia de generar intervenciones que apoyen e incluyan a las figuras parentales en la psicoterapia de sus hijos/as, bajo la comprensión de que estos son víctimas indirectas, que se producen cambios en ellos al acompañar la psicoterapia de sus hijos/as y de su rol fundamental en el proceso de los niños, niñas y adolescentes.
