In this article, I set forth a reading in dialogue with Poema de Chile by Gabriela Mistral and A pie por Chile by Manuel Rojas, two Chilean writers who lived wandering lives and created a poetics out of this kind of roaming. Understanding walking as a historical and cultural practice, the hypothesis of this article is that, in both texts, the exercise of writing the walk through Chilean lands implies mapping an embodied geography, which centers the nourishing experience of the body and a collaborative ethics of walking. In this way, both Mistral and Rojas address the vicissitudes of their wandering lives and celebrate walking as a creative and liberating act that enhances the encounter with nature and with others.En este artículo propongo una lectura en diálogo de Poema de Chile de Gabriela Mistral y A pie por Chile de Manuel Rojas, escritores chilenos que llevaron una vida errante y que hicieron de ese tipo de desplazamiento una poética. Entendiendo el caminar como una práctica histórica y cultural, la hipótesis es que en ambos textos el ejercicio de escribir la caminata por el territorio nacional implica la elaboración de una geografía corporeizada, que pone en el centro la experiencia revitalizadora del cuerpo y una ética colectiva del caminar. De esta manera, tanto Mistral como Rojas abordan las vicisitudes de sus vidas errantes y celebran el caminar como un acto creativo y liberador, que potencia el encuentro con la naturaleza y los otros.
