This paper aims to question the contributions that the praxis of psychoanalysis can make in the field of drug addiction, as it is a clinical presentation of enormous prevalence today. Following the developments of Lacan (1958), the intention is to put the analyst on the bench, raising a question about the analyst's position in the face of the will to achieve rapid therapeutic results, understood as the ending of the consumption of the substance.El presente escrito se propone interrogar los aportes que la praxis del psicoanálisis puede hacer en el campo de las toxicomanías, en tanto se trata de una presentación clínica de enorme prevalencia en la actualidad. Siguiendo los desarrollos de Lacan (1958), se pretende poner al analista en el banquillo, partiendo de la pregunta por la posición del analista frente al afán por conseguir resultados terapéuticos rápidos, entendidos éstos como el levantamiento del consumo de la sustancia.
