| dc.description | In this paper makes a review of the state about the art on sexual education in Colombia, Chile, Mexico and Uruguay, and shows the advances in human rights and sexual and reproductive rights in the four nations. Educating the new generations in sexuality has implied achievements, setbacks and resistance, since, over almost five decades, there has been a continuous discussion about what are the most appropriate contents, what values should be promoted, what methods should be used and who should be responsible for carrying out this process in educational establishments. Legislation and international agreements on the matter have served as a benchmark for the implementation of public policies on sexual and reproductive health and educational policies that guarantee the right of girls, boys and adolescents to receive quality sexual education. Despite advances in some aspects such as hygiene, health and control of population growth, there is still a need to strengthen the recognition and vivence of sexual and reproductive rights, especially in matters of sexual diversity and gender equality, since, in schools, situations of bullying continue to occur against boys, girls and adolescents with diverse identities or sexual orientations, likewise, gender violence and femicide continue to be a constant for Latin American society. | en-US |
| dc.description | El presente trabajo hace una revisión del estado del arte sobre la educación sexual en Colombia, Chile, México y Uruguay, y muestra los avances en derechos humanos y derechos sexuales y reproductivos en las cuatro naciones. Educar en la sexualidad a las nuevas generaciones ha implicado logros, retrocesos y resistencias, ya que, a través de casi cinco décadas se ha planteado una discusión continua sobre cuáles son los contenidos más apropiados, qué valores se deben fomentar, qué métodos se deben utilizar y quienes deben ser los responsables de llevar a cabo este proceso en los establecimientos educacionales. La legislación y acuerdos internacionales en la materia han servido de referente para la implementación de políticas públicas en salud sexual y reproductiva y de políticas educativas que garanticen el derecho de niñas, niños y adolescentes a recibir una educación sexual de calidad. A pesar de los avances en algunos aspectos como higiene, salubridad y control del crecimiento poblacional, aún falta fortalecer el reconocimiento y vivencia de los derechos sexuales y reproductivos, en especial en temas de diversidad sexual y equidad de género, ya que en los colegios se siguen presentando situaciones de bullying hacia niños, niñas y adolescentes con identidades u orientaciones sexuales diversas, así mismo, la violencia de género y el feminicidio siguen siendo una constante para la sociedad latinoamericana. | es-ES |
