Based on Jacques Rancière's concepts of aesthetic unconscious, representative regime and aesthetic regime, the article elaborates the thesis of a liberal aesthetic that operates behind several artistic manifestations of our present. For that matter, some ideas of sound art are examined, mainly represented by the English artist David Toop. The article affirms the possibility of reading liberalism through an aesthetic examination, considering the analysis of the relation between conscience and unconscious, but based on the antecedent of a sensitivity that determines this relation and that is manifested through an art that we call liberal. These manifestations go beyond the strictly artistic, allowing through the proposed examination to outline some fundamental dimensions of liberalism.A partir de los conceptos de inconsciente estético, régimen representativo y régimen estético de Jacques Rancière, el artículo elabora la tesis de una estética liberal que opera tras diversas manifestaciones artísticas de nuestro presente. Para el caso, se examinan algunas ideas del arte sonoro, representadas principalmente por el artista inglés David Toop. El artículo afirma la posibilidad de leer el liberalismo a través de un examen estético, considerando el análisis de la relación entre inconsciente e inconsciente, pero a partir del antecedente de una sensibilidad que determina esta relación y que se manifiesta a través de un arte que llamamos liberal. Estas manifestaciones superan lo estrictamente artístico, permitiendo a través del examen propuesto, esbozar algunas dimensiones fundamentales del liberalismo.
