This study aims to characterize the evolution of scientific knowledge about IoT and Smart Homes through the mapping of scientific studies routes, as well as to identify the most emerging knowledge in this area. It uses data from papers from Web of Science published between 2010 and 2021. Network analysis and Source Path Link Count were used to build the citation network and map the main route of knowledge. The results contribute to the current literature in understanding the evolution of this topic and can guide researchers in the direction of future work related to IoT and Smart Homes.Este estudio tiene como objetivo caracterizar la evolución del conocimiento científico sobre IoT y Smart Homes a través del mapeo de rutas de estudios científicos, así como identificar los conocimientos más emergentes en esta área. Utiliza datos de artículos de Web of Science publicados entre 2010 y 2021. Se utilizaron análisis de red y Source Path Link Count para construir la red de citas y mapear la ruta principal del conocimiento. Los resultados contribuyen a la literatura actual para comprender la evolución de este tema y pueden guiar a los investigadores en la dirección del trabajo futuro relacionado con IoT y Smart Homes.
