| dc.description | This article analyzes the process clergy abuse publicizing in Chile, based on theories of public problems and public denunciation. This allows explaining the process by which, in Chile, there is a transition from silence, silencing, and denial of such abuses to narrative configurations where the complainants are recognized as victims/survivors and the responsibilities of different actors are problematized, mainly those of the Catholic Church and the State of Chile. For this purpose, two scandals that occurred in Chile in the last decade (the Karadima case, 2010-2011 and the Maristas case, 2017-2018) are analyzed based on interviews with key actors in these two cases (abuse victims and non-victims), in the press and in television programs. We conclude with the identification of three main narrative configurations of abuse in Chile from the development of these two scandals: abuse as a dyadic problem between victim/perpetrator, abuse as a process focused on the figure of the victim/survivors and abuse as a citizen problem. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este artículo analiza el proceso de publicización del abuso eclesiástico en Chile a partir de las teorías de los problemas públicos y de la denuncia pública. Ello permite explicar el proceso por el cual, en Chile, se pasa del silencio, silenciamiento y negación de tales abusos a configuraciones narrativas donde se reconocen a las denunciantes como víctimas/sobrevivientes y se problematizan las responsabilidades de diferentes actores, principalmente las de la Iglesia Católica y del Estado de Chile. Para ello se analizan dos escándalos acaecidos en Chile en la última década (el caso Karadima, 2010-2011 y el caso Maristas, 2017-2018) basándonos en entrevistas con actores claves de estos dos casos (personas víctimas de abuso y personas no-víctimas), en la prensa escrita y en programas televisivos. Se concluye con la identificación de tres principales configuraciones narrativas del abuso en Chile a partir del desarrollo de estos dos escándalos: el abuso como problema diádico entre víctima/victimario, el abuso como proceso focalizado en la figura de la víctima/ sobrevivientes y el abuso como problema ciudadano | es-ES |
