dc.description	This article investigates the understanding of the philosophical maxim Nosce teipsum according to the theologian and mystic of the twelfth century, William of Saint-Thierry. The author proposes a novel interpretation of the theme, attentive to anthropological structures of image-based text analysis of the Exposito super Cantica canticorum. From there it emerges the invitation to the Song of Songs to recognise the latent presence of God in his own image and be willing to be informed by the One who begins to know.	en-US
