This article asks about the role of law in the configuration and articulation of gender, based on the systematization and analysis of the development of legal feminisms in Latin America. At first, there will be a journey through the beginnings of the main currents of legal feminism, recognizing in turn the criticisms that have been made. Subsequently, the theoretical advances produced in Latin America will be presented. This will show that even taking into account the influence of the legal feminisms of the Global North, in our case there are theoretical proposals that, in addition to revealing the differences, gaps and disagreements with the legal field, seek to build alternative proposals to the law or an alternative law that is anchored to social, cultural and economic realities. It is concluded that legal feminisms in Latin America have not only limited themselves to carrying out exercises of appropriation and reformulation of theoretical proposals already elaborated, as they have also demonstrated the ability to produce their ownthoughts, where the link with the territories and interdisciplinarity have been present.El presente artículo se pregunta respecto del rol del Derecho en la configuración y articulación del género, a partir de la sistematización y análisis del desarrollo de los feminismos jurídicos en América Latina. En un primer momento se realizará un recorrido por los inicios de las principales corrientes del feminismo jurídico, reconociendo a su vez las críticas que se les han formulado. Posteriormente se expondrán los avances teóricos producidos en América Latina. Con ello se mostrará que inclusive teniendo en cuenta la influencia de los feminismos jurídicos del Norte Global, en nuestro caso existen propuestas teóricas que además de revelar las diferencias, brechas y desencuentros con el campo jurídico, buscan construir propuestas alternativas al Derecho o un Derecho alternativo que se encuentre anclado a las realidades sociales, culturales y económicas. Se concluye que los feminismos jurídicos en América Latina no solo se han limitado a la realización de ejercicios de apropiación y reformulación de propuestas teóricas ya elaboradas, pues también han demostrado la capacidad de producir pensamientos propios, en donde la vinculación con los territorios y la interdisciplinariedad han estado presentes.
