The objective of this paper is to analyze empirical research with primary data on intra-regional South American migration between 2015-2021.  This concern arises from the sustained increase in recent years of this migratory phenomenon. The results allow us to verify the varied theoretical views at the time of developing its bases and analysis. Exploring the daily practices of the people who live and move around South America, which merge, interconnect and enable the development of different strategies that facilitate the inhabitation of different territories. In addition, gender is considered in these processes, accounting for the inequality, reproduction of stereotypes and violations to which women are exposed.  Finally, the reproduction of actions deployed by the host countries, which differentiate and build a story of fear, rejection, and threat of those who arrive in their nations, is made visible. For the same reason, they invite us to reflect on the ways of investigating those who find themselves in the South.  El objetivo del presente trabajo es analizar las investigaciones empíricas con datos primarios sobre la migración sudamericana intrarregional entre los años 2015-2021.  Esta inquietud surge a partir del aumento sostenido en los últimos años de este fenómeno migratorio. Los resultados permiten comprobar las variadas miradas teóricas al momento de desarrollar sus bases y análisis. Se exploran las prácticas cotidianas que tienen las personas que viven y se mueven por América del Sur, las cuales se fusionan, interconectan y posibilitan el desarrollo de distintas estrategias que facilitan el habitar los diversos territorios. También se considera el género en estos procesos, dando cuenta de la desigualdad, reproducción de estereotipos y vulneraciones a las que se ven expuestas las mujeres.  Finalmente, se visibiliza la reproducción de relatos de miedo, rechazo y amenaza hacia la población migrante por parte de las naciones que los reciben.
