| dc.description | Currently, in Latin America of a total of 20 million higher education students, only 50% complete their studies. Therefore, it is necessary to have instruments to identify which risk factors influence dropout. However, given that the phenomenon is extremely complex, there is no consensus on the results are the risk factors that make up this problem. In this way, it is essential to have multiple opinions. Due to this, the present study of mixed, non-experimental design, with a descriptive-exploratory scope, used the Delphi test to meet the main objective of this research “Design and Validate the content of a sociodemographic and risk characterization instrument of desertion. The results of the study indicate that the instrument is valid in content, and that dropout is a multifactorial phenomenon, which is configured as such, due to the interaction of factors; personal, academic, socioeconomic, social and institutional. It is concluded that the instrument is valid in content and that it allows identifying the risk factors for dropping out, both for traditional and non-traditional students, so it can be used by different higher education institutions. Finally, it is highlighted that the next studies will focus on carrying out other analyzes; reliability, construct and criteria. As well as, determine if there is a correlation between dropouts and students who are retained based on the variables included in the questionnaire. | en-US |
| dc.description | Actualmente, en América Latina de un total de 20 millones estudiantes de educación superior sólo el 50% finaliza sus estudios. Por ello, es necesario contar con instrumentos que permitan identificar qué factores de riesgo influyen en la deserción. Sin embargo, dado que el fenómeno es extremadamente complejo, no existe consenso sobre cuáles son los factores de riesgo que conforman esta problemática. De esta manera, resulta fundamental tener múltiples opiniones. En razón de esto, el presente estudio de diseño mixto, no experimental, con un alcance descriptivo- exploratorio, utilizó la prueba Delphi para cumplir con el objetivo principal de esta investigación es ‘Diseñar y proporcionar evidencia de validez del contenido de un instrumento de caracterización sociodemográfico y de riesgo de deserción’. Los resultados del estudio permiten indicar que el instrumento es válido en contenido, y que la deserción es un fenómeno multifactorial, que se configura como tal, por la interacción de factores; personales, académicos, socioeconómicos, sociales e institucionales. Se concluye que, el instrumento es válido en contenido y que permite identificar los factores de riesgos de deserción, tanto de los estudiantes tradicionales y no tradicionales, por lo que puede ser utilizado por distintas instituciones de educación superior. Finalmente, se destaca que, los próximos estudios estarán enfocados en realizar otros análisis; confiabilidad, constructo y criterio. Así como también, determinar si existe correlación entre los desertores y los estudiantes que se retienen en función de las variables que contempla el cuestionario. | es-ES |
