| dc.description | This article presents an alternative framework for interpreting the war, including the representations of those who participated and survived the confrontation, which is still absent in the models that govern the understanding of the war. To this aim, we utilize “the war that we have not seen”, a project of historical memory which summarizes paintings and stories lived by ex-combatants. This composition, which belongs both to the field of the humanities and the social sciences since it involves critical- normative analysis (historical, philosophical, political, legal) of materials from extensive field work, is supported by a hermeneutical-critical, normative, and qualitative (collection, selection, and analysis of images and interviews) method. In addition, we draw on the conceptual analysis of authors such as Butler (war framework), Deleuze, Guattari and Mbembe (war machines) and Roxin (fungibility in organized devices of power). This exercise is novel because, in addition to representing the war through its actors, it complements existing studies based on the notion of fungible life, still absent in academic literature, although empirically verifiable. The study concludes by arguing that the fungibility of life constitutes the main cause of the enlistment and destruction f large populations, even of those not yet born. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este artículo presenta un marco alternativo de interpretación de la guerra, incluyendo las representaciones de aquellos que participaron y sobrevivieron a la confrontación, aún ausentes en los modelos que gobiernan la comprensión de la misma. Para el desarrollo de este objetivo, nos servimos de “la guerra que no hemos visto”, un proyecto de memoria histórica, que compendia pinturas y relatos vividos por parte de excombatientes. Esta composición, que pertenece tanto al campo de las humanidades como al de las ciencias sociales, pues implica análisis crítico-normativos (históricos, filosóficos, políticos, jurídicos) de materiales procedentes de un extenso trabajo de campo, se apoya en el método hermenéutico-crítico, normativo y cualitativo (recogida, selección y análisis de imágenes y entrevistas), además del análisis conceptual de autores como Butler (marco de guerra), Deleuze, Guattari y Mbembe (máquinas de guerra) y Roxin (fungibilidad en aparatos organizados de poder). Este ejercicio es novedoso porque, además de representar la guerra a través de sus actores, complementa los estudios existentes a partir de la noción de vida fungible, todavía inexistente en la literatura académica, aunque constatable empíricamente. Se concluye advirtiendo que la fungibilidad de la vida constituye la causa principal del alistamiento y la destrucción de amplias poblaciones, incluso, no nacidas todavía. | es-ES |
