dc.descriptionThis paper aims to present the multiple realizations of ll and y of speakers from different Spanish speaking territories found in the extensive oral corpus FEC (Fonología del Español Contemporáneo). We present several acoustic criteria to assign the continuum between occlusive and approximant to different phonetic variants to enable quantitative analysis of the corpus. The results of the acoustic analysis confirm the different phases described in previous literature of the phenomenon in the different Spanish speaking territories. Additionally, they show that a) palatal fricative realizations [ʝ] – the IPA symbol commonly used for the phoneme – is very rare in the corpus and b) that in territories that distinguish between /ʎ/ and /j/, hybrid variants consisting of lateral + central that show a beginning delateralization are quite recurrent.…en-US
dc.descriptionEste artículo presenta la diversidad de realizaciones de ll y y en el territorio hispanohablante basándose en el amplio corpus del programa de investigación FEC (Fonología del Español Contemporáneo). Establece una serie de criterios acústicos para compartimentar el continuum entre oclusivas y vocales no silábicas en variantes fonéticas, con el fin de allanar el camino para el correspondiente estudio cuantitativo del corpus. Los resultados, además de corroborar las distintas fases descritas por la literatura anterior en que se encuentra el fenómeno en el territorio hispanohablante, revelan por un lado que (a) las realizaciones puramente fricativas palatales [ʝ] –el símbolo AFI común para el fonema– son muy raras en el corpus; y, por otro, que (b) en territorios distinguidores /ʎ/ y /j/ no son extrañas las variantes híbridas lateral + central (esta última con refuerzo), que reflejan una inicial deslateralización.es-ES
