dc.descriptionThis article analyzes both tensions and implications of transnational relations in the new Chilean right-wing. In particular, it focuses its attention on the formation of the International Democrat Union (IDU), together with the articulation of the Union of Latin American Parties (UPLA) with National Renovation. The hypothesis that we propose affirms that such articulation was a vector in the promotion of the free market, reaffirming the cleavage that had occurred within the party during the transition between “hard” and “liberals”. Through the debate of the first Free trade agreements signed since the democratic return, as well as unpublished sources of militant files, we evidence the configuration of groups, conflicts and representation of interests in National Renovation is evidenced. This indicates a party more prone to conflicting tendencies than properly liberal as has sustained by the bibliography.en-US
dc.descriptionEl presente artículo analiza las tensiones e implicancias de las relaciones transnacionales en la nueva derecha chilena. En particular centra su atención en la formación de la International Democrat Union (IDU), junto a la articulación de la Unión de Partidos Latinoamericanos (UPLA) con Renovación Nacional. La hipótesis que proponemos afirma que, dicha articulación fue un vector en la promoción del libre mercado, reafirmando el clivaje que se había dado al interior del partido durante la transición entre “duros” y “liberales”. A través del debate del primer Tratado de Libre Comercio firmado desde el retorno democrático, así como fuentes inéditas de archivos de militantes, evidenciamos la configuración de grupos, conflictos y representación de intereses en Renovación Nacional, mostrando un partido más de tendencias en conflicto que propiamente liberal como ha sostenido la bibliografía.es-ES
