This article analyzes the cultural and academic connections that Spain established with Latin America through the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), one of the official scientific organizations of the Franco regime. First, we will discuss how research on Americanism was organized within the CSIC's research centers, including the personnel involved and the focus on specific topics. Second, we will examine the relationships that CSIC centers developed with other organizations in the Americas. Finally, we will explore the discourse promoted by CSIC publications, both in terms of monographs and periodicals.El presente artículo analiza los lazos culturales y académicos que estableció España con América Latina a través del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, uno de los organismos científicos oficiales del régimen franquista. En primer lugar, se estudiará la forma en que se organizó la investigación en torno al americanismo en los centros del Consejo, tanto su personal como los temas privilegiados. En segundo lugar, se analizará el tipo de lazos que fueron forjando los centros del CSIC con otros organismos americanos. Por último, se examinará el discurso impulsado desde sus publicaciones, tanto monográficas como periódicas.
