dc.description	The following article seeks to relate the historical essays by Edwards, Encina and Eyzaguirre -which belong to the twentieth-century Chilean conservative historiographical current- to the utopian conservative postulate of Karl Mannheim’s Sociology of Knowledge. The aim is to reveal the historical distortions of the past that determine the school of conservative thought, and its interest in reflecting an essentialist identity of Chile within the socio-historical context of the crisis of that time, in which their works were produced (XX century). In sum, it is a sociological analysis applied to the field of historiography from theoretical and empirical grounds.	en-US
dc.description	El siguiente artículo, busca relacionar los ensayos históricos de Edwards, Encina e Eyzaguirre, pertenecientes a la corriente historiográfica conservadora de Chile del siglo XX, con el postulado utópico conservador de la sociología del conocimiento de Karl Mannheim. El propósito de esto es revelar las distorsiones históricas del pasado que determinan el pensamiento conservador de dicha escuela y su interés por reflejar una identidad esencialista de Chile dentro del contexto socio-histórico de crisis de la época desde el cual elaboran sus obras (siglo XX). En suma, se trata de un análisis sociológico aplicado al campo de la historiografía desde un plano teórico y empírico.	es-ES
