| dc.description | The following article addresses the controversy generated by the publication of the book Capítulos de la historia de Chile, by Ranquil, the pseudonym of Lucy Lortsch, in the months prior to the 1973 coup. This popular book tried to dismantle a series of myths that traditional historiography had elaborated over the years, proposing, in exchange, an alternative vision of the national evolution to be read by the popular sectors. In front of the book, a well-organized social block arose that judged the content, the author and the publisher, as perpetrators of an affront to the country's history. The controversy, finally, ended up involving a diverse group of actors, including a segment of professional historians, for or against the book. Thus, it seeks to show another type of struggle that took place in those times, such as the cultural and historiographical. | en-US |
| dc.description | El siguiente artículo aborda la polémica que generó la publicación del libro Capítulos de la historia de Chile, de Ranquil, seudónimo de Lucy Lortsch, en los meses previos al golpe de Estado de 1973. Este libro de divulgación intentó desmontar una serie de mitos que la historiografía tradicional había elaborado a través de los años, proponiendo, a cambio, una visión alternativa del devenir nacional para ser leída por los sectores populares. Frente al libro, se levantó un bloque social bien organizado que enjuició el contenido, a la autora y a la editorial, como ejecutores de una afrenta a la historia patria. La polémica, al final de cuentas, terminó por involucrar a un grupo variopinto de actores, entre estos, a un segmento de historiadores profesionales, a favor y en contra. Así, se busca dar cuenta de otro tipo de lucha que se dio en aquellos tiempos, como la cultural e historiográfica. | es-ES |
