This paper addresses the link between body and agency in the context of an underdevelopment of the structure-agency debate in the theory of social systems, particularly in the works of Talcott Parsons and Niklas Luhmann. It highlights how the structure-agency problem emerged in the critique of Parsons' structural-functionalism in the 1960s, and how Luhmann sought to overcome this dichotomy by considering society as an autonomous system and humans as its environment. Through his theory of symbolically generalized media, Luhmann demonstrated how social systems motivate the acceptance of their meaningful offers. The paper then seeks a complementation between both theories, specifically regarding Luhmann's symbiotic mechanisms and Parsons' catexis, to explain the acceptance of symbolic offers from society. Emphasis is placed on the interconnection between bodies as systems and social structures, enabling a more comprehensive understanding of motivation and action in social dynamics.El presente trabajo aborda la relación entre agencia y cuerpo en el marco de una falta de desarrollo del debate estructura-agencia en la teoría de sistemas sociales, particularmente en las obras de Talcott Parsons y Niklas Luhmann. Se destaca cómo la problemática estructura-agencia surgió en la crítica al estructural-funcionalismo de Parsons en los años 1960 y cómo Luhmann buscó superar esta dicotomía al considerar a la sociedad como un sistema autónomo y a los seres humanos como su entorno y, a través de su teoría de los medios de comunicación simbólicamente generalizados, mostrar cómo los sistemas sociales motivan la aceptación de sus ofertas de sentido. Se busca luego una complementación entre ambas teorías, específicamente entre los mecanismos simbióticos de Luhmann y la catexis de Parsons, para explicar la aceptación de ofertas simbólicas de la sociedad. Se subraya la interconexión entre los cuerpos como sistemas y las estructuras sociales, lo que permite una comprensión más integral de la motivación y la acción en la dinámica social.
