dc.descriptionEste artículo analiza el caso de la unidad académica universitaria ubicada en la periferia de la ciudad de Tijuana. La revisión teórica incluye un acercamiento a la estrategia de desarrollo urbano integral sustentable, el urbanismo fragmentador y las implicaciones en la movilidad urbana. Los objetivos de investigación planteados son: i) caracterizar el viaje desde y hacia la universidad, diferenciando medios motorizados particulares y el transporte masivo, y ii) conocer la percepción, cambios de hábitos y satisfacción según modos de viaje, usando la encuesta como técnica de recolección de información. Los resultados muestran los impactos de la movilidad en calidad y tiempo, así como el surgimiento de nuevos hábitos en los estudiantes, en quienes prevalece el interés por lo motorizado. Esto favorece la automovilidad y el consecuente impacto ambiental por emisiones de carbono. Ante la imposibilidad de impulsar la caminata, por la condición del espacio periurbano, la búsqueda de la eficiencia de la transferencia modal en el propio sistema de transporte público, además de la integración de herramientas tecnológicas para formalizar un programa de raite, son potenciales estrategias viables que les permita, a los universitarios, optimizar su viaje y favorecer su participación en el mercado laboral.es-ES
dc.descriptionThis article analyses the case of the university academic unit located on the outskirts of Tijuana. The theoretical review includes an approach to the comprehensive sustainable urban development strategy, fragmenting urbanism and the implications for urban mobility. The proposed research objectives are: i) to characterise the trip to and from the university, differentiating private motorised means and mass transport, and ii) to know the perception, changes in habits and satisfaction according to modes of travel, using the survey as a technique of information collection. The results show the impacts of mobility on quality and time, as well as the emergence of new habits in students whose interest in the motorised prevails: these favour motoring and the consequent environmental impact due to carbon emissions. Given the impossibility of promoting walking due to the condition of the peri-urban space, potentially viable strategies can arise through the search for the efficiency of the modal transfer in the public transport system itself, in addition to the integration of technological tools to formalise a raite program. This would allow university students to optimise their trip and favour their participation in the labour market.en-US
