dc.descriptionThis article refers to the birth of the homosexual story in Chile and presents an investigative finding in the story “Algo extraño” (December 20th 1959) by the Chilean narrator Ariel Godoy Astica. Along with “La mala ventura de Nanito Velásquez” (1959) by Edesio Alvarado, this story can be considered the first, in the form of a short story, within Chilean letters, where a link with homosexual culture is openly shown. Regarding the fable, Godoy Astica’s narration introduces us to its protagonist Camilo, a seventeen-year-old boy, who feels “somewhat strange” for Dalzare, another thirteen-year-old boy; the strange thing is the passion of love. The story, whose central theme is falling in love, presents this form of homosexual love in a romantic, pure and platonic way. To articulate its narrative universe, this story, as in some of the previous moments of Chilean literature (poetry and novel), resorts to sublimation to publicize the relational experiences of homosexual living, escaping the ruggedness of a degraded social environment. and degrading. With this story by Godoy Astica, homosexual literature is reaffirmed as a testimony and expression of the subaltern, the sublime, although without touching fantasy (Sutherland 2001).en-US
dc.descriptionEste artículo refiere al nacimiento del cuento homosexual en Chile y presenta como hallazgo investigativo el cuento “Algo extraño” (20 de diciembre, 1959) del narrador chileno Ariel Godoy Astica. Junto a “La mala ventura de Nanito Velásquez” (1959) de Edesio Alvarado, este relato puede ser considerado como el primero, en la forma de cuento, dentro de las letras chilenas, en donde se muestra abiertamente una vinculación con la cultura homosexual. Con respecto a la fábula, la narración de Godoy Astica nos presenta a su protagonista Camilo, un joven de diecisiete años de edad, quien siente “algo extraño” por Dalzare, otro niño de trece años; lo extraño es la pasión amorosa. El cuento, cuya temática central es este enamoramiento, presenta esta forma de amor homosexual de manera romántica, pura y platónica. Para articular su universo narrativo, este relato, como en algunos de los momentos anteriores de la literatura chilena (poesía y novela), recurre a la sublimación para dar a conocer las vivencias relacionales del vivir homosexual, escapando a lo escabroso de un entorno social degradado y degradante. Se reafirma con este cuento de Godoy Astica a la literatura homosexual como testimonio y expresión de lo subalterno, lo sublime, aunque sin tocar la fantasía (Sutherland 2001).es-ES
