dc.descriptionIn this article, we expose how Martí attributed a crucial function to literary work, and above all to journalism, diametrically opposed to the formalistic conceptions of artistic creation, but with an aesthetic concern that brought him close to certain movements of the time. We also assess the Cuban writer’s career in journalism and show how the style of his writings is linked to his ideology. Given the close relationship that he established between literature and justice, we will see how it was nourished by the movements or writers that linked art to the civic or moral world, especially the pre-Raphaelites and Emerson’s philosophical production.en-US
dc.descriptionEn el presente artículo, ponemos de manifiesto cómo Martí atribuyó a la obra literaria, y sobre todo a la periodística, una función trascendental, situada esta en las antípodas de las concepciones formalistas o puramente lúdicas de la creación artística, pero con una preocupación estética que le acercó a determinados movimientos de la época. Asimismo, analizamos la trayectoria periodística del escritor cubano y ponemos de manifiesto cómo las modalidades estilísticas de sus escritos están vinculadas a su proyección ideológica o su ideario. Dada la estrecha relación que estableció entre literatura y justicia, veremos cómo se nutrió de los movimientos o escritores que vinculaban el arte con el mundo cívico o moral, especialmente del prerrafaelismo y de la filosofía emersoniana.es-ES
