dc.descriptionCurrent debates on energy policy revolve around the phenomenon of the energy transition, driven mainly by concerns about climate change. However, the impact of the energy transition on social equity and the territory is not always debated. In this context, the aim of this research is to analyze preliminarily what has been the consideration of the energy poor in the energy transitions of Argentina since 2000, as well as to evaluate if these processes have reduce the territorial inequality of energy poverty in the country. From the exploratory analysis based on secondary data, it is evident that in the country, despite having relatively good energy access indicators, still exists a severe problem linked to the existence of energy poverty, which is not distributed equally in the national territory. This would imply that the energy transition in Argentina is not necessarily just and that energy policy should incorporate social equity objectives in the short term.en-US
dc.descriptionLos debates actuales sobre la política energética giran en torno al fenómeno de la transición energética, impulsados principalmente por la preocupación por el cambio climático. Sin embargo, el impacto de la transición energética sobre la equidad social y el territorio es menos discutido. En este contexto, el objetivo del presente trabajo es indagar preliminarmente cuál ha sido la consideración de los pobres energéticos en las transiciones energéticas de Argentina a partir del año 2000, como también evaluar si estos procesos han reducido la desigualdad territorial que la pobreza energética evidencia en el país. A partir del análisis exploratorio basado en datos secundarios se encuentra que en Argentina, a pesar de contar con indicadores de acceso energético relativamente buenos, aún existe un gran problema vinculado a la existencia de pobreza energética, con un efecto desigual sobre el territorio nacional. Estos hallazgos implicarían que la transición energética en Argentina no necesariamente es justa y que la política energética debería incorporar objetivos de equidad social en el corto plazo.es-ES
